We recognise the media as a powerful tool for positive change in the community and believe that journalists play a significant role in challenging detrimental stereotypes that tolerate, allow, excuse and in some cases encourage violence against women and girls and other vulnerable groups.

For this reason, we produced this guidance tool to aid journalists – key agents in the fight against gender based violence – in the development and production of well informed impactful reports.

This site and its content was developed and written by Reem Maghribi after extensive consultation with emerging and established journalists. The launch of this website in 2018 and the guidance it delivers were complemented by a series of  printed posters and an online discussion group.

This site was produced as part of a larger initiative instigated and led by UNFPA Lebanon, and is maintained in partnership with Sharq.Org.
